This project aims to define the origins and demographic history of Hunter-gatherers of Southeast Asia including Maniq of Thailand, Jehai and Bateq of Malaysia, and Ayta/Agta/Alta/Batak/Mamanwa groups of the Philippines. They will be compared to population groups of East Asia as well as Andaman Islands, Papua New Guinea, and Australia. In addition, this project also aims to detect signals of selection among these populations.
