The Centre for Digital Humanities Uppsala (CDHU) releases periodic calls for
Pilot Project Support, an initiative that provides free technical and
methodological support as well as computational resources for Uppsala
affiliated research projects in the humanities and social sciences. This
present SNIC project proposal aims at improving CDHU's infrastructure, in
collaboration with UPPMAX, so that the center can provide improved support to
pilot projects in need of flexible cloud resources. This includes, but is not
necessarily limited to, the development of SaaS applications, running online
platforms like Recogito or Scalar and hosting interactive computational
notebooks. The administration of cloud instances, as well as allocation of
resources to different pilot projects within our quota, will be handled
internally and mainly by the Research Engineers employed at CDHU assigned
as co-investigators of the SNIC project.
